The 61ᵉ edition of the SIA under the sign of support to the agricultural world

For over six decades, the SIA has been the industry's must-attend event, bringing together the passion and know-how of those who make French agriculture what it is today. To the delight of visitors, it's a place where tradition meets innovation.

The very first Salon de l'Agriculture was held in 1964. Since then, the event has become a benchmark, with attendance doubling to over 600,000 every year.

The Concours Général Agricole is deeply rooted in the SIA program. Originally, it was reserved for animals, to reward the best of French animal genetics. Nowadays, the Competition includes other categories, such as products and wines. These are always highlights of the Salon de l'Agriculture.

In 2012, a new tradition was born to celebrate French breeders. Each year, the crowds flock to the stand in front of the mascot cow. For this 61ᵉ edition, Oupette, a 6-year-old Limousin cow, was chosen for the role. Making the journey with her 4th calf and her breeder Alexandre Humeau from the Vienne, Oupette will represent the Limousin breed. While she can be recognized by her distinctive hairline, she also has all the breed's characteristics.
