Airlines are applying the new recommendations of the French authorities concerning the APIS (Advanced Passenger Information System) procedure:
- The authorities at certain destinations may require APIS data from air passengers (name, date of birth, nationality, type of travel document, travel document number). These data are collected by the airline during booking and transmitted to the authorities at the place of arrival.
APIS is a security procedure involving the transmission of information on all passengers to the immigration authorities of each country. This information is contained in your passport (or identity card for travel within the European Union). When air tickets are issued, the mandatory transmission of this information will help passengers avoid difficulties on departure and arrival.
