1. Scuba diving

Just a 15-minute walk from the center of Ajaccio, along boulevard Lantivy, lies an ideal spot for scuba diving: Trottel beach, with its fine sand and crystal-clear waters.

Whether you're a beginner or an experienced diver, the local scuba diving center provides you with all the equipment you need for exploration dives or snorkeling excursions. An instructor will accompany you and film your experience. This site, one of the deepest in Europe, offers varied and spectacular scenery.

If you prefer snorkeling, equip yourself with flippers, mask and snorkel to explore the underwater flora and fauna, either from the beach or from spots accessible by boat.

2. Kayaking at sea

From the cove of the Stella di Mare hotel, on the road to the Îles Sanguinaires, take a kayak tour of this unique archipelago. Made up of four rocky islands of volcanic origin, the Îles Sanguinaires are classified as a "Grand site de France" and are home to colonies of seabirds and rare protected plants.

For a different experience, rent a transparent kayak and admire the beauty of the seabed without straying far from shore. If paddling doesn't appeal to you, opt for a pedal boat with integrated slide, a fun activity for the whole family.

3. A boat cruise

Climb aboard a sailboat or motorboat and discover the Corsican coastline from a whole new angle. Take advantage of a day on a catamaran to admire the Isle of Beauty from the sea, as you sail along emblematic sites such as the Ajaccio citadel, the coast of the Sanguinaires Islands, or the Pointe de Sette Nave.

Other excursions departing from Ajaccio or Porticcio will take you to the Scandola nature reserve, a Unesco World Heritage site, via secret coves, caves and spectacular calanques.

4. Jet ski excursion

In the Gulf of Ajaccio, several water sports centers offer jet ski rental, with or without a license, to explore the most beautiful coves on the island of Beauty. Combining breathtaking scenery with an adrenalin rush, this activity is a must for any stay in Ajaccio.

Whether you set off from the Plage du Neptune on the road to the Îles Sanguinaires or from the Port Tino Rossi, you can opt for a free rental or be accompanied by an instructor. On Agosta beach, south of Ajaccio-Porticcio, you'll also find a base offering a wide range of water sports, including jet skiing.

5. A parasailing flight

Fancy a bit of height? From the nautical bases in Ajaccio or Porticcio, board a platform boat that will take you over 500 meters from the shore to take off. Under a large parachute, you'll rise gently dozens of meters above the water.

During the ascent, enjoy a breathtaking view of the Gulf of Ajaccio. Despite its impressive appearance, parasailing is a peaceful activity, accessible from a very young age. To make the experience even more memorable, rent a GoPro camera and immortalize every moment.

Looking for a thrill? Opt for a towed buoy and get ready for a lot of fun and laughter. This activity can be adapted to your physical condition and your desires. With several people on a buoy fitted with reinforced handles, hold on tight when the boat starts! Whether you choose a banana buoy, a mattress or a wakeboard, this experience is both fun and refreshing, ideal for a fun and dynamic time at sea.

7. A canyoning course

At the foot of the Richiusa canyon, discover Corsica from a unique angle. This unforgettable adventure plunges you into turquoise waters through natural slides, obstacles, impressive multi-meter jumps and even a zip line.

Equipped with a neoprene wetsuit, helmet, harness and canyoning rucksack, you'll start with a 45-minute to 1-hour approach walk before beginning the descent, which also lasts over an hour. The Richiusa course is open to children aged 10 and over, but there are also more challenging circuits available for thrill-seekers.

8. Windsurfing

On the south shore of the Gulf of Ajaccio, Portigliolo beach, with its fine sand and crystal-clear waters, is ideal for sailing sports. The Mare e Vela nautical base offers windsurfers, catamarans, paddles and dinghies for hire by the hour, half-day or day.

The team also organizes exciting regattas, as well as relaxing activities such as yoga paddle. The beach is also the starting point for a kayak trip to Capo di Muro.
