1. Brive's must-see market

The Brive-la-Gaillarde market is one of the local pride and joys. Voted one of the most beautiful markets in France, it's an unmissable gourmet stop-off to discover the gastronomic treasures of the Correze region.

Local produce takes center stage on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. From 7.30 a.m. to 1 p.m., the Place du 14 juillet and the Halle George Brassens come alive in a convivial atmosphere for this food market brimming with gastronomic nuggets.

The Brive market is also held on Saturday mornings, when it is even more imposing and festive, bringing together over 200 stallholders stretching all the way to the Place de la Guierle.

This meeting of flavors is an opportunity to discover the region's famous specialties. You're no doubt familiar with Périgord truffles and fattened poultry, but let yourself be seduced by Voutezac peaches, violet mustard and milhassou.

The Brive market is a great place to feast and meet passionate food artisans.

2. Truffle market

It's a seasonal event, taking place during the Foires Grasses de Brive. The controlled truffle market corresponds to the black diamond harvest season. From early December to late February, fresh truffles are sold every Saturday morning in the Salle Brassens.

At the truffle market, the quality and traceability of this top-of-the-range product are guaranteed by the presence of approved inspectors appointed by the departmental truffle-growers' federation.

In addition to the weekly market, the award-winning truffle fair is held every year on the first Saturday in January, in conjunction with the Foire des Rois.

3. La Halle Gaillarde

A very special place, the Halle Gaillarde is a sales and catering space made up entirely of stalls from local traders. It's a building with a rich historical and gastronomic heritage, destined to bring Brive's southern sector to life through its commercial appeal.

Nicknamed the Cathedral of Gastronomy, the Halle Gaillarde is a showcase of local merchants where you'll find a wide choice of quality products, from butchers to delicatessens.

This gourmet stopover, in the heart of Brive, invites you to savor local culinary specialties in all seasons: on the terrace to enjoy the fine weather, or inside, where the architecture of the building, a true local work of art, adds to the charm of the experience.
