Chalair Flex Insurance: Cancellation without giving a reason – it’s that simple
Got a last-minute change of plans? With Chalair Flex Cancellation Insurance, you regain control of your booking. Unlike traditional insurance policies, which often require complex administrative evidence (medical certificates, employer’s statements, etc.), Chalair Flex is based on a promise of absolute simplicity: no reason or supporting documents are required.
The benefits of Chalair Flex insurance:
- Maximum flexibility: You can cancel your booking up to 2 days (48 hours) before your flight departs.
- Guaranteed refund: You’ll receive 80 per cent of the fare excluding tax. Please note that service charges and the cost of the Chalair Flex option are not included in the refund.
- Speedy processing: Once the cancellation has been confirmed, the payment will be transferred to your bank account within 3 working days.
- Generous limit: The total amount refunded can be up to €3,000 per booking.
Flight Delay Insurance: Your time is precious
Because we know that every minute counts, Chalair, in partnership with the insurer Koala, offers specific cover against flight delays. If your flight is significantly delayed, you’ll receive a fixed-rate compensation payment to make up for the inconvenience.
How does the compensation work?
- Trigger threshold: A compensation payment of €100 per person is paid if your covered flight is delayed by more than 2 hours.
- Precise calculation: The delay is measured as the time between the originally scheduled arrival time and the actual arrival time (when the aircraft is parked and ready to disembark passengers).
- Extended cover: This cover applies to flights operated by commercial airlines with published timetables, departing from or arriving at airports with a valid IATA code.
Please note: Certain exceptional circumstances, such as wars, nuclear risks, cyber incidents or weather disruptions lasting more than 7 consecutive days, are not covered. Similarly, the cover does not apply if the flight is cancelled by the passenger themselves.

- To cancel without giving a reason with Chalair Flex: Simply send an email to Chalair’s customer service team (serviceclient@chalair.fr) at least 48 hours before your departure. Koala will then take over to finalise your refund.
- In the event of a flight delay: It’s even simpler! Koala will contact you directly by email within 3 working days to confirm your eligibility and ask for your payment details.
